LCWSC will be flushing water mains along Hwy 252 from Hwy 76 W to Ft Lindley Rd on Tuesday, October 11, 12 and 13, 2022, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. You may experience discolored water and/or lower water pressure. Affected roads include: Hwy 252, Dixon Rd, Fridy Rd, Prince Rd, Kingwood Est, Mill Ham Dr, Southview Dr, Cain Rd, Westwood Dr, Cedar Valley Rd, Starnes Rd, Steve Thompson Rd, Ft Lindley Rd. The permitted discharge will consist of the facility’s domestic sewer and the Bio-filter used in their process. Disinfectant Change

During the week of July 25, 2022, Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission (LCWSC) will begin the process of changing the disinfectant used for water treatment from free chlorine to chloramine. Chloramine is chlorine combined with small amounts of ammonia. The benefits of changing to chloramine is that it stays active in the water (providing disinfection) longer than chlorine and it minimizes the taste and odor of chlorine in water. Most individuals find that water treated with chloramine taste better than water treated with only free chlorine.
