Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission proposes to file an application for a loan/grant with Rural Utilities, a division of Rural Development, and will hold a public meeting on October 27, 2022, at its office located at 3850 Highway 221 South, Laurens, SC 29360 at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to give an opportunity to become acquainted with a proposed Rural Utilities project, consisting generally of 29,500 linear feet of 16-inch waterline running along Raider Road, Whelon Road, Welcome Church Road, Metric Road and Highway 14. The project also includes 1-million-gallon elevated water tank and associated appurtenances including site work, access drive and connection to the existing water system near the intersection of Highway 14 and Metric Road.

Citizens will have the opportunity to comment on such items as economic and environmental impacts, service area and alternatives to the project.
