Results of bacteriological samples have confirmed that the system WAS NOT contaminated. The water is (and has been) safe for drinking and cooking purposes.

LCWSC has notified and advised 18 customers located at the intersection of Hwy 252 and Neely Ferry Rd to Hood Creek Rd to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

The customers impacted are in the bright blue highlighted area on the map below.

Be aware that boiling water can burn the skin. Please take the necessary precautions to prevent any possibility of injury to yourself and others.

Required maintenance on infrastructure supplying water at the intersection of Hwy 252 and Neely Ferry Rd to Hood Creek Rd area resulted in a loss of pressure and water service to approximately 18 customers.

There has been no confirmed contamination of the system; however, because of this loss of pressure, the potential for contamination exists. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, LCWSC has advised these customers to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until notified otherwise. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The LCWSC is working to restore pressure and water service as soon as possible and will sample to confirm that bacteria are not present.

Once required testing confirms no bacteria present customers in this area will be notified that the advisory has been repealed.
